This rail is well-made, long enough when extended, clicks easily into upright position, and is easy to assemble. I don’t need to use the long security nylon straps which can run all the way under the mattress; it’s held in place sufficiently by the weight of the mattress on the legs that slide under the mattress. My mother is largely immobile anyway, but has squirmed out of bed when hot under the covers, so this helps.Possible worry: it’s not reallly high enough to compensate for the super-thick mattresses that many have nowadays, and on those, it only sticks up about 5 inches, but it’s enough for mom’s extra thick mattress and box spring. Also, depending on which side of the bed it’s on, the nylon webbing only covers half of the railing (the part that slides out doesn’t get covered) so I suppose it’s possible that legs or even arms could poke through and become entangled if that is a concern. Could require additional cloth covering if person is active and thin. Overall it’s just what I needed and I bought one for mom’s house and one for mine.
Update it broke the main bar support underneath only made it 2 yrs...plus it shifted my mattress constantly annoying...Still works but for someone who uses it under the support weight I'm disappointed I'm old & live with a bad back condition that often leaves me bedridden I like the bed rail do not get me wrong especially the little outside pockets but you have to be very careful because the pens that line up to lock it in is rather fragile I'm in a new home & the lock pins are rusted so I don't lower it I just keep it up all the time...the neat thing about this item is it does have a button to where you can extend it out way past your knees because often I have to sleep on my left side I use it to prop myself up with the only thing that I do not like about it is it makes my queen size mattress shift it always manages to scoot the top of the mattress from the headboard I'm old and frail I can't push it back so my husband with bad back & bad knees we constantly now have to adjust the mattress because when we inserted & put it together the bars underneath were not flat that's why it shifts the diameter of the bars that go between bed & mattress are big solid round rods....even though it had a lock in strap it's still shifts my queen mattress that can be rather annoying when you are bedridden...overall it's a good bed rail much better than anything else that I was able to find and it also has pockets on the inside I don't recommend removing the cover it's well made & functional I put my things in the pockets it holds my ChapStick snacks glasses cell phones little rags socks tissues flash light etc....the cover for it is brilliant well-made and it has yet to rip or tear or give me any grief I highly recommend it but with this you will have to shift your mattress around and I do have concerns about the rubbing of the box spring that it sits on it will make your mattress slide....I usually can go about 3 days and then I have to adjust the bed because I'm up and down or I am in it all the time but other than that it's holding up I'm rather heavy when I put all my weight on it it's very sturdy & helps me to stay put at night...it helps me to get up as I grab it to get myself straight up out of bed as I said before I have a very bad back if you need a bed rail to prop yourself on during sleep then this is the one that I would recommend when I have to sleep on my right side I put a pillow in front of my chest then I can rest my hand on top of the pillow & rail..when I sleep on my left side I put my orthopedic pillow that's fitted to my body up against the railing and then I put a soft pillow for my lumbar I'm a hefty kind of gal I got a couple pounds on me that I rather not say but let's just say that this thing can take a lot of wear & tear hold up to 300 lbs especially with me getting up down or putting all my weight on it at night when I have to lay on my bad side because of my back condition...I can't always sleep on my right side sometimes I have to sleep on my left side luckily because of the bar I'm able to sleep on my left side because it holds the pillows in that support me during sleep again the only gripe I have is that it will make your mattress shift...I have to push it in front forward and then I have to get my husband to go to the end of the bed and shove it Forward I didn't know that when I purchased this but it was not a deal breaker because it was something that I needed since I have become quite elderly infirmed and often bedridden it is good & sturdy I don't recommend laying it down...Unless you're still in good health & you don't need balance but the thing that worries me & why I don't lower mine during the day 1st the design flaw is when you lower it every thing falls out the pockets....it's because those little pins they have to line up and if they don't line up you could very well break them off...so in order to avoid that I would recommend also to keep the bed railing up at all times it is a good product it's well made I'm kind of glad that I got it it was expensive but trust me I've get good use out of it as I write this right now I am leaning on it for support...But it won't last long as it's portrayed as medical grade ITS NOT! I paid over $100 for this & I guess I got 2 yrs out of it sadly disappointed...
I absolutely love this. I had surgery needed help getting in and out of bed. This is perfect, grab the handle with good arm to get in bed and to grab it to get out of bed. I had my arm, bicep and shoulder surgery so I couldn’t rely on myself so I bought one. It is a game changer. Love it. Don’t hesitate. I’m keeping it on once I’m even healed. Sturdy, great quality, easy assembly l put a lot of pull on it to get into the bed. Fits great under your mattress, holder area for remote. My bed is high to the point my feet don’t touch the floor do again perfectly compatible with my needs. Well worth the cost.
Worked perfectly to protect wife from falling.
It was easy to install in my bed. I didn't need it to prevent a fall, I needed it to help me to get in and out of bed without damaging my spinal surgery. It works great. The ability to extend the rail is very helpful too
Work good. Hard to attach to bed it will slide .
This is a fabulous product. My husband when he dreams jumps out of bed and falls out of bed a lot. This is just what he needed and I love it because it swings down and no one would even know it was there during the day. Strong, perfect product.
very good bedrail. It feels substantial enough to feel safe, has handy pockets, can adjust length, and when necessary, with a simple tug on a knob, it will fold down. The only issue is getting it secured properly to the bed. Once you do, there really isn't a reason to take it off again. The straps go under the mattress and hook on to the opposite part of your bedframe. I recommend only putting weight to pull towards the bed, and not away. Also, don't count on the bedrail to keep your stuff from falling on the floor under it. I did read online that people use pool noodles for things like that, though. Oh--I got this bedrail for myself about 6 years ago because I am old and silly and kept falling out of bed.
This is a great bed rail I use it for my mom that has dementia. Very durable and strong made material. So happy for this great product
This rail was perfect size!! When elderly mom got out of hospital we bought this rail to assist with getting in and out of bed. Worked great especially when she had to sit up in bed. Easy and clear instructions. Extremely durable and well made. Love that you can flip it down to make bed and when not needed during the day. Definitely worth buying!
So happy with this product. A friend assembled/ put up for us. This gives me peace of mind that my husband won't roll out of bed. Well worth the money.
This is a lifesaver for keeping my 93 year old father from falling out of bed. The only problem is the pivot point is too low. His bed is low and when the bed rail is lowered, it hits the floor at an angle making getting him into the bed problematic.
Very happy with this bed rail. Sturdy construction and I could put it together easily- all tools included.
Works pretty well actually, for my 97-year-old mom.
My mother said I have her a baby bed. Now I don’t have to worry that she has fallen out. She is able to use the frame to adjust where she comfortable at in the bed. Also I like the fact that there is a pouch for her cell phone and remote. 5 stars all the way.
Very easy to assemble; took less than 15 minutes, one person. Installation a bit more difficult for heavy, king mattresses. Best with two people but one strong person can do it alone. The most difficult part is to raise the box spring and mattress to secure the straps. Otherwise, pretty easy. Highly recommend.
This bed rail might be called heavy duty...it's quite sturdy. Assembly was not difficult. However, raising the rail into position when lying in the bed is not easily done by someone who is physically weak. A second person may be needed to raise the gate.
I had my son setup this bed rail for my husband when he got diagnosed with cancer, and it worked perfectly for him to get in and out of bed by himself. He could use it to pull himself and sit up in bed, and then use it as a grab bar to stand up and steady himself while getting out of bed. I liked it because I could pivot it down and out of the was to make the bed easier. Not to mention the pouch to keep the remote and other things he needed to have close. What a great product! Would recommend it to anyone who struggles with mobility!
This is not the least expensive bed rail on Amazon. That’s probably because it’s built so well. We chose this one because it’s tall enough and we have a 14 inch mattress. The bars that slide between the mattress and boxspring are round, but he can’t feel them when he’s laying on the bed.We haven’t been able to really tie it to the bed because I can’t unclip the straps. The clip is really not functional. That is probably the only criticism I can leave. We needed something strong enough so that a 230 pound man wouldn’t fall out of bed. He has REM sleep disturbance and can literally throw himself out of bed. The physics of this bed rail are genius in keeping him on the mattress because his weight holds the rail in place. He says he even leans against it during the night. He doesn’t worry anymore about hurting himself during the night, and either do I. It’s such a comfort to know he’ll sleep safely, we’re both more rested in the morning. No more crashing that wakes us both up in the middle of the night, no more bruises and broken side tables. He also uses it to steady himself when getting up.So even if it isn’t the least expensive bed rail, the construction is sturdy; it’s very worth the money.
The EZ Adjust Bed Rail is a handy and reliable option if you need extra support getting in and out of bed. It extends from 26 to 42 inches, so you can adjust it to fit your needs, and it folds down when you don't need it. It's sturdy, easy to install with the included safety strap, and even comes with a storage pouch for things like your phone or remote. It might not work with really thick mattresses or platform beds, and folding it down takes a little effort, but overall, it's a solid choice for added safety and peace of mind.
Bought this for my mom to serve as a bed rail. Super easy to assemble and install and provides protection so she doesn't roll over and land on the floor. Also has a pouch so you can put items such as tv remote.
the ez adjust bed rail is a sturdy product and love that it goes to 42". very safe for elderly parent.
The EZ Adjust Bed Rail is of excellent quality, easy to use and very reliable.
This is the 2nd EZ Adjust Bed Rail I have purchased in a year for family members. After excellent results with the first rail I did not search for another.
We installed two of these (one on each side) of my mother-in-law's Craftmatic adjustable bed after she fell out of bed the second time. We're glad we did (even though Mom told someone "my kids put restraints on my bed" ) and the result is cost-efficient, but be aware of the following:• The part of the rail that extends underneath the bed (which makes the rail very solid, because the occupant's weight adds to the anchoring effect) makes it impossible to put rails directly opposite each other on a single-size bed. In our case, we staggered the rails so that they still provide full protection.• While the rails work fine with an adjustable bed, the bed may not work fine with the rails. We anchored the rails on the bed frame base, not the part that elevates, which effectively means the bed no longer elevates. In our case, Mom doesn't use the elevation feature, so it's not a fatal flaw (we removed the control unit for the bed anyway), and it might be possible to anchor the rails such that the bed could still elevate. But we haven't tried, so maybe not.• The rails have nice covers with pockets [not pictured in the photos on Amazon] that can be used to stash TV remotes, etc. But Mom felt "trapped" with the covers on because she couldn't see through them, so the covers came off (quite easily, btw).• Some people with limited manual dexterity might have trouble manipulating the locks that drop the rails (although they are well designed to stay open with a simple twist, so only one of the two locks needs to be handled at one time). Mom can't drop the rails while she's in bed, but (once she'd practiced a few times) can handle them from the outside when she wants to make up the bed.• We were worried that the part of the rail that extends underneath the bed would be felt by Mom when she lay in bed. Nope! (Your mileage may vary depending on your princess, her mattress, and her pea tolerance, of course. )Overall, we like the bed rails, they do what we bought them for, and we recommend them for most situations, with the above caveats.
